monday again :)

Well, its Monday again which means back to work.  Got in at 7:30 this morning so Renee could be in the city by 8 so it was nice and quiet when I got in.

Quiet enough indeed, to make some calls to sort out my adsl and stuff.  Didn't realise it was such a bloody saga to go in and update details.  So Telstra uninstalled my ISDN and then didn't update the details so when Optus go in to see if I can indeed have ADSL, it seems I still have ISDN.  Funny, neither party felt the urge to tell me what was going on.  So I rant and rave a bit and find that I was still being billed for the ISDN that I don't have too.  Getting a credit for that.

Then I call Telstra back to complain.  End up being transferred around again and they eventually come back and say no, there's no trace of "ISDN" on your account - it shows up as there once being an ISDN service but not that it is now.  All good.

So I call Optus.  Optus say that my line in unserviceable, probably because the details haven't updated.  Optus then say that when they search on my number, the get the following response:

"directory detail listing type not found with value matching request. item cannot be created for this customer service number"

This equates to "does your phone actually work? cos this says essentially that your phone isn't connected".  Great.  So as far Telstra are concerned I don't have ISDN but I have a partially connected service.  As far as Optus are concerned, I don't have a service and can't have ADSL till I have a service to connect it to.

Fucking awesome.  Used the c word three times this morning :P

Got some names and numbers and I *will* have this sorted today.  Come hell or high water, it *will* be sorted today.

*sigh*  It was never meant to be this hard, surely.
