The big 0-1

Twelve months ago today, we were excited at the concept of having only a few days left before our daughter would be induced.  We had a couple of days to get our bags and “things” in order

Little did we know that the next morning, we’d be packing our bags and I’d be making frantic calls to work.  We’d be picking the clothes our daughter would wear in the hospital and the clothes to come home in (from our 000 collection )

One of the last songs that our daughter heard before she was born, was Destination Calabria and sure enough, our destination really would be unknown just like in the song.  It was a loooooooong day in the hospital waiting for nothing much to happen.  In exactly 24 hours time, a year ago, we were waiting for our doctor to check Batty and determine whether or not we’d be in for a Caesarian.

At 23:33 tomorrow, our daughter will be 1 year old.  I won’t cast a passing glance over the last year and just say it was perfect and awesome.  Being a parent has had its trials *laugh* but it has still been perfect and awesome   There’s so many moments in the day that make up for every one of those trials.

As I type, Cody’s declaring war on sleep - she’s probably excited about the birthday fairies bringing all her presents for tomorrow *grin*
