Somewhere Only We Know

Oh my :)

This month, we went to Melbourne *gasp* without Cody. This was part of my birthday present from Renee wherein we'd head to Melbourne (child-free) and see Billy Elliot and hang out for a day or so.

So, Billy Elliot .. ohmigod! It was absolutely fabulous and also slightly odd that we were on the tram sitting opposite the guy who played Billy's dad. Me, being me, I didn't notice until Batty elbowed me as soon as he traipsed onto the stage *grin*. Highly likely I wouldn't have noticed if he had sat down next to me and told me himself, I was that caught up in the show ;)
To top off a killer day, we had a dining experience at the restaurant, fifteen. And yes, it wasn't just eating at fifteen, it was an actual dining experience :) Probably the most gourmet place we'd ever eaten at and it turned out to be right around the corner from our hotel (the Grand Hyatt *giggle*). Absolutely memorable day on a number of counts; thanks Batty *heart* :)

We arrived home to Grungeon having had a ball with her Princess Mish, Unky Baa and the kids. There's a possibility she didn't even notice we weren't there :o I think we held out pretty well to not be the overbearing parents we could have been and I'm glad we did kind of sit back and go with it (and, well, shop for Grunge instead of hang out with her heheh).

This month, Grungeon also moved up to the next room at daycare. Can't say it's been a walk in the park, but I'm sure she'll settle down and deal with it. It's amazing watching how she is picking up stuff at a rate of knots from that room and the kids in it. In addition, she no longer sleeps in a cot there, which is a good start towards us being able to get her into a bed.

On family matters, our sister-in-law went in for keyhole neurosurgery with one of the best neurosurgeons in the world and whilst it went several hours longer than it was meant to with Batty's brother pacing the corridors the whole time, it was successful. Batty was really keen to get over there to see everyone, so we booked her a flight over for the next day to go and give her brother a hug. The news seems to be fairly slow other than the action at the moment, so we'll wait and see how the results are and go from there.

As always, thanks to Sar and Sparky for their spare room and love; you guys have been been best friends and then some :)
