Oh .. my .. gosh, how much do I love my new employer

I was saving up for the exam I’m looking to do and when my manager asked how my study was going, I mentioned that I thought I was pretty much ready, but just wasn’t sure about biting the bullet because its a lot of money to just blow if it turned out I wasn’t ready.

I needn’t have worried *grin*  It turns out that my manager’s attitude is that I’m getting certified to do better at my job and ultimately, that’s my employer’s gain.  Therefore, she covers exams (up front – not just if you pass), up to twice before you’re on your own.  Then its 2 days max per subject for study leave (paid – not annual leave), then paid “as if I was in the office” time while I actually do the exam.  Far cry from my previous employer who categorically had no study during work hours, no study leave (and if it was, it was just really unpaid leave) and during the exam, that was annual leave or unpaid leave.  Sheesh!

So, I’m all booked in for next Tuesday .. but shhhhh don’t tell anyone
